Yin Lam is a Bristol, UK-based Director of Photography and filmmaker with over a decade of experience across commercial, sports and documentary production.
Over the past four years in the UK, Yin has worked at JMP Studio, taking a leading role across productions in the UK and internationally. His experience spans the full filmmaking process — from creative development and pre-production through to directing, cinematography, colour grading, aerial filmmaking and final delivery. His time at JMP has also included leading the production team as Head of Production, combining hands-on filmmaking with production and creative leadership.
Before establishing his career in the UK, Yin worked across Hong Kong and Japan as a director and cinematographer. In 2017, he received sponsorship through the DFA Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award, which led to an opportunity to work with Maxilla Inc. in Tokyo. He later returned to Hong Kong, working independently with agencies, directors and brands before founding his production company, VISIGNER, in 2020.
Throughout his career, Yin has worked on productions across Europe, Asia and North America, including the UK, United States, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Cambodia, Italy, France, Portugal and Czechia. Working across different markets, cultures and production environments has shaped a versatile approach to visual storytelling that balances creative ideas with the practical demands of production.
Yin graduated with a BA (Hons) in Digital Media from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and began his professional career at Crossfade Creative, where he worked as a director and cinematographer.
